Project Overview

The Arete Initiative at the University of Chicago offers researchers a network of scholars to solve problems across disciplinary and institutional boundaries.

The Arete brand needed to convey prestige, while also appearing on the forefront of scientific research. Our solution began with the infinity symbol, which we enhanced by giving it a sketchy quality. The lines in the symbol are meant to represent multiple parties collaborating to solve a single problem.
