CCSN Identity

Project Overview

The University of Chicago Center for Cognitive and Social Neuroscience was established to promote interdisciplinary research in the fields of cognitive and social neuroscience.

Research in these areas requires interdisciplinary expertise, comparative studies, innovative methods, and integrative conceptual analysis and the Center is designed to foster these. The CCSN logo was designed to capture two aspects of the organization: 1) a cloud shape suggesting the organization’s broad network of constituents and 2) the cloud elements are organized to also reflect the major anatomical forms of a human brain.

In the client’s words
Working with a design team is just like any great relationship — it requires trust, confidence, and hopefully the end result exceeds your expectations. The Pivot Design team produced stunning visuals which are clever, unexpected, fresh and contemporary. Working with Pivot is pure joy.
