Materials and devices at the nanoscale (a nanometer is one billionth of one meter) hold vast promise for innovation in virtually every industry and public endeavor including health, electronics, transportation, the environment, energy, and national security.
Established in 2000, the International Institute for Nanotechnology (IIN) at Northwestern University provided the infrastructure necessary to make substantial advances in the field. Today the IIN is a global hub of excellence in the field and currently represents and unites over $600 million in nanotechnology research, educational programs, and supporting infrastructure.
This yearly scientific journal covers the Institute’s groundbreaking undergraduate research in nanoscience. Accordingly, the design of the magazine is bold and energetic, while maintaining a clean and organized structure.
