Institute for Nanotechnology Identity

Project Overview

Nanotechnology is the fabrication of objects by the specification and placement of individual atoms or molecules, or where at least one dimension is on a scale of nanometers (one-billionth of a meter).

Established in 2000, the International Institute for Nanotechnology (IIN) at Northwestern University provided the infrastructure necessary to make substantial advances in the field. Today the IIN is a global hub of excellence in the field and currently represents and unites over $600 million in nanotechnology research, educational programs, and supporting infrastructure.

Our logo and identity solution symbolizes the minute scale and elementary nature of the technology with rings of successively shrinking elements. The identity also included development of a stationery program, brochure and website.
